Odoo e-invoicing in the UAE: modules, providers and what to check first
Part of our UAE e-invoicing guide: deadlines · accredited providers · PINT AE and Peppol · the guidelines in plain English · readiness checklist · small businesses · Zoho Books · QuickBooks · rental businesses.
Odoo set-ups are often customised over years, by more than one developer. That matters for e-invoicing, because the invoice data has to be complete wherever it comes from. This page covers where Odoo stands and how to plan.
Does Odoo support UAE e-invoicing?
Not as a provider. Odoo does not appear on the Ministry of Finance list of accredited service providers (last updated 18 October 2026). The Odoo 19 UAE localization documentation covers the chart of accounts, VAT, the VAT201 return and the corporate tax report; in the sections we read it does not mention UAE e-invoicing, PINT AE or Peppol. Check your own version and edition with your Odoo partner, because this can change between releases.
What are the options for an Odoo business?
- A third-party module. The Odoo Apps store lists modules from other developers that build PINT AE invoices inside Odoo. One example is a UAE e-invoicing module on the Odoo Apps store for Odoo 18 and 19, whose publisher says it generates PINT AE files and submits them to the ASP you configure, and says it is not an ASP itself. A module still needs a provider contract, and it needs testing against your own customisations.
- The provider's own connector. Some accredited providers offer an Odoo connection. Ask to see it working on your invoices, including credit notes.
- A built connection. Invoices are read from Odoo and sent to the provider's API, with rejections returned to a named person. This is what we build, and it suits heavily customised Odoo set-ups where a store module does not fit.
What should an Odoo business check first?
- Customer tax IDs on the partner record. Every business customer needs a correct TRN in the field the integration will read, not in a note.
- Duplicate partners. The same customer created by sales, by accounts and by a past import, each with different details.
- Taxes on every invoice line, including zero-rated and exempt lines, set up the same way across companies if you run more than one.
- Custom fields and reports. Anything an earlier developer added to the invoice may sit outside what a standard module reads.
- Who acts on a rejection. A rejected invoice that lands in an inbox nobody reads can turn into a late invoice, and late invoices carry fines.
Our readiness checklist covers each mandatory field. If your Odoo reports already take days to put together, our post on an Odoo sales report that took two days shows the kind of data problem that also breaks e-invoices.
The deadlines are the same whatever software you run: businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more appoint a provider by 30 October 2026 and go live on 1 January 2027; everyone else appoints by 31 March 2027 and goes live on 1 July 2027. Our deadlines page has every date with its Ministry of Finance source.
